Credit level:
Additional Information   Only available to students on LAWT03

Description

This module will cover aspects of both criminal and civil litigation with a weighting of 60/40 in favour of civil litigation. The civil aspect will explore the procedural and tactical considerations in pursuing claims from both a claimant and defendant perspective. The criminal aspect will cover practical aspects of evidence and criminal procedure from arrest through to conviction and appeal. Where appropriate the skill of advocacy is used, not only to give the students the opportunity to practice the skill in preparation for the advocacy assessment but to allow them to put their knowledge of substantive law into a practical context.
